Nice to Meet You!
My name is Kendel (she/her), and I am a white, queer cis woman living in Portland, Oregon, where I am licensed to practice Occupational Therapy. I have been an occupational therapist for 4 years, primarily working in the hospital setting with individuals recovering from illness or traumatic injuries. I have furthered my education and recently became certified in seeing clients seeking occupational therapy to address sex and intimacy difficulties. My goal is to share the unique skills occupational therapists possess to help clients with where they are in their sex and intimacy journey.
Practice History:
My role in the hospital was to aid in the acute healing process by helping people engage in their daily occupations, working towards completing their tasks at their desired level of independence. I have worked with individuals with orthopedic injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and a variety of medical illnesses requiring hospitalization. I strive to meet my clients where they are in their healing process and to create practical goals that enable them to reach their desired level of independence with specific activities during the recovery process.
What am I doing when I’m “Out of Office”?
During the week, I typically spend my evenings with my partner working out, making dinner, and watching whatever show we have engrossed ourselves in. I will attend to occasional dance class as well during the week.
On the weekends, I am spending time with friends, running errands, working on my business, and making time to get outside. And all along the way, planning our next travel destination.
